Making The Kobolds

Back in December of 2020, we happily introduced our first-ever stickers created by our artists at A Few Burnt Hairs.

These were the Kobold Spearmen, which includes one sticker with 2 Kobolds holding spears ready to defend their Dragonlord.

The other was a Kobold Shaman, a singular Kobold holding a specially crafted staff to cast magical spells.

We have since created quite a few more and grown our sticker collection quite a bit.

Our stickers now include our Chonky Monster Sticker line.

You may be asking yourself, why kobolds?

Well, funnily enough, it wasn't planned at all.

You see, kobolds were our first pick for stickers because we were presented with an amazing opportunity.

This opportunity came in the form of having our art featured in an unreleased YouTube video.

With this video, we hoped to reach a larger audience beyond Instagram.

The video was called "What They Don't Tell You About Kobolds - D&D".

As the name suggests, the video is about Kobolds in the realms of Dungeons and Dragons.

This video was created by YouTuber MrRhexx, who has made dozens of videos on Dungeons & Dragons.

His videos cover Dungeons and Dragons lore and things that may not be stated in the 5th Edition Monster Manual.

We enjoy his content and recommend you go check out his page if you haven't already seen some of his work.

On his YouTube page, we saw that he was editing a new video about Kobolds.

While we were not able to talk with Mr. Rhexx directly, we did see that he was looking for artwork for the aforementioned video.

Make It Happen, Captain!

Excited, we sprang into action!

We were determined to get a piece of artwork to show up on one of Mr. Rhexx's videos.

This was also an opportunity to get the A Few Burnt Hairs name out on a different platform other than Instagram.

This was all back in 2020.

We were still very new, and we were looking to connect with other creators in the TTRPG space.

So we drew up our Kobolds, submitted the image to his email, and patiently waited for a response.

We never did receive a response, which was most likely due to his being very busy.

All that editing and compiling images takes up a lot of time.

Success!

That did, however, make it all more exhilarating when we spotted our Kobolds 33 minutes into the video.

Yeah, it's kind of a long video, but it's definitely worth the watch.

Needless to say, we were elated.

We had one of our renderings in a Dungeons and Dragons YouTube video.

It was definitely an exciting moment for us at the time, and now looking back, we get to see how far we've come.

The next logical step in our minds was to make these tangible.

So we figured we might as well make them full-fledged stickers.

So we did.

Making It Stick

It was rather easy to do since the image we had drawn was digital and the kobolds were already on separate layers.

We weren't one hundred percent on the stickers in the beginning, though once we began to debut them in our shows, we saw they were very popular.

This pushed us to make more stickers for our shop, and what followed was our biggest sticker to date.

That is our Chromatic Dragons sticker!!

That's right!

We collected everyone's favorite reptilian overlords into one big sticker to be enjoyed in all of their glory.

You can visit our online shop and find our Chromatic Dragon sticker here.

If you would like to see our whole collection of stickers, you can visit the link right here.

That will include our Monster Chonk line of stickers as well.

A Fond Farewell For Now

Thank you all for joining us and for reading through all of this.

We really appreciate all the love and support you've given us.

We look forward to making more content pertaining to tabletop games and doing more things that bring us excitement.

Until next time, may all your hits be crits, and may your enemies miss.
